LupaVita™ is a multivitamin with the goal of raising vitamin levels that may be seen as deficient in Lupus patients. Research has debated the strength of the correlations between Lupus disease activity and vitamin levels (Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Magnesium). We always recommend taking a blood test from your doctor to measure you vitamin levels before and after taking LupaVita™. This will give you a better indication of how well your body is absorbing the vitamins. As there are many studies done in regards to the vitamins in LupaVita and their correlation with Lupus, there have been no studies on LupaVita itself. We are looking to hold a professional study and publish our findings in the upcoming future. At LupaVita™ we hope that by raising vitamin levels, you may see less disease activity. It is important to remember that each Lupus case is different, so it is important to bring this to your doctor to make sure LupaVita™ is right for you.
It has been studied that higher of Vitamin D are associated with less severe Lupus disease activity. Vitamin D is one of the most common deficiencies seen through Lupus patients. ”Improving vitamin D status among patients with SLE may benefit other common manifestations as well, such as fatigue and cognitive dysfunction.”
Curcumin, a bioactive derivative of the spice turmeric, has been tested over the last several years for its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin helps Lupus patients by suppressing inflammation before it begins. Turmeric may prove useful for reducing oxidative stress, improving endothelial function or proteinuria in SLE.
Vitamin B12 is known as the energy vitamin because of its positive effects with fatigue. Its essential for hair, skin, and nail health. It has been seen to help with regulating a healthy nervous system, reducing depression, brain fog, and stress. In another NIH study, there was a correlation between SLE patients with anemia having lower Vitamin B12 levels.
Magnesium is important for maintaining health in the heart, bones, muscles and nerves. Adding Magnesium to the LupaVita™ formula may reduce the risk of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium levels have also been seen as a marker for disease activity in SLE patients as well.
Flaxseed Oil Powder
The essential fatty acids (Omega oils) in flaxseed oil are one of its key healing components. Essential fatty acids work throughout the body to protect cell membranes, keeping them efficient at admitting healthy substances while barring the damaging ones. Flaxseed is also known for its benefits with joint pain and kidney healthy. Flaxseed has been seen to assist with lipid levels in Lupus patients as well.
Cherries are known for their anti-oxidant properties. Eating cherries daily have shown to reduce inflammation, provide joint pain relief, reduce muscle pain, and lower the risk of stroke. Cherries are recommended for nutrition and diet of someone disagnosed with Lupus.
Zinc helps supports the immune system and protein synthesis in the body. In the skin, zinc assists in proper structure of cell membranes and improves rashes and wounds. Zinc also has anti-inflammatory effects and protects against UV radiation.
Selenium increases the body’s production of glutathione, the master anti-oxidant in the body, helping to keep the body from attacking itself.
The lists of benefits regarding Vitamin C are endless. Some of the most noteworthy include protection against immune deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye disease and skin rashes and legions.
This essential vitamin is known for its antioxidant properties. Since inflammation is responsible for widespread tissue damage in Lupus, Vitamin E aids in the delay of inflammation process. These vitamins also prevent cell damage that leads to joint pain.
Calcium supports bone strength in Lupus patients and reduces high blood pressure as well. Individuals with lupus are at increased risk for osteoporosis for many reasons. Calcium may help with reducing the risk of getting osteoporosis.
By adding black pepper to the LupaVita formula we have enhanced Turmeric’s (Curcumins) bioavailability. This will ensure Turmeric will be absorbed at a much higher rate.
